Kangaroo Island, situated off the coast of South Australia, is unique in terms of its pristine environment, abundance of native wildlife and spectacular natural attractions, making it the jewel in the crown for the State's tourism and premium, fresh local food and wines.


The Commissioner for Kangaroo Island will focus her work on a number of projects that have been identified as crucial to delivering lasting prosperity and benefits to Kangaroo Island residents.

Some of these projects will lead to improvements in the short term, while others will take longer for the benefits to be fully realised.

Information Session on Major Developments Well Attended by Contractors, Tradespeople and Associated Bussinesses

Over 100 people attended the Business Support Services Information Session held on Wednesday 20 January at the Acacia Apartments in Kingscote, which outlined opportunities for businesses to be involved in major developments on the Island, with a focus on the Kingscote Airport upgrade.

The meeting was jointly presented by the Office of the Commissioner for Kangaroo Island and the Kangaroo Island Industry and Brand Alliance (KIIBA), who have been commissioned to undertake the delivery of business and employment support services with consultants, Claire Ellis and Sue Arlidge. 

This project is targeting those interested in securing contracts, sub-contracts and employment through major developments on the Island as well as associated businesses. If this is you, please complete the Business Support Services Information Form and email to Sue Arlidge ( by Friday 5 February.
