Cate has been appointed as the Office of the Commissioner for Kangaroo Island’s Principal Strategy Officer. Cate has extensive experience working in State Government: within the disability, environment and arts sectors. With a strong understanding of public policy issues and the mechanics of government at the local, state and national levels, Cate will support the Commissioner to ensure that the economic, social and environmental needs of the community are met.
Bringing skills in community engagement, project management, and communications to the role, Cate looks forward to continuing to work with the community on Kangaroo Island to support economic growth and to ensure the effective delivery of government services and infrastructure.
Jennifer Trethewey is the Office Manager for the Office of the Commissioner for Kangaroo Island and is based in Kingscote, on Kangaroo Island.
Jennifer Trethewey has a rural background and has lived on Kangaroo Island for 15 years, giving her a strong understanding of the issues facing the local community. She has extensive experience working both in and out of Local Government.
Jennifer’s role is to support the Commissioner and the Community and Principal Strategy Officer administratively and to facilitate connections between the Kangaroo Island Community, businesses and Council as the primary point of contact.
