Native Fauna & Flora


Kangaroo Island is a true wildlife sanctuary with around 40% of the island covered by native vegetation. It is home to a prolific bird and animal species including kangaroos, koalas, ospreys, fur seals and sea lions, and echidnas, all protected in their natural habitat. More than one-third of the Island is declared Conservation or National Park and it has five significant Wilderness Protection Areas.
